Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and FLATPING INFOTECH (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED, 6/17, 18, Double Story, Jangpura Extension, Jangpura, New Delhi – 110014, Delhi, India (“Ishq”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Ishq app and this website. By using Ishq you accept them. If you do not, do not use Ishq.
1. You must be 18 or over
Ishq is only for adults. By using it you confirm you are at least 18 years old. If we find that you are not, we delete your account without notice.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. One account per person. Do not share it, do not sell it, and do not create a new one to get around a block or a suspension.
Everything you put in your profile must be true and must be about you. Do not use photographs of other people.
3. Ishq is free
Every feature is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no paywalls, and there will not be. We may show optional advertisements in future; if we do, you will never have to watch one to stay safe or to be treated fairly.
4. How to behave
Do not:
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone;
- post nudity, sexual content, or anything violent or hateful;
- post anything involving a minor in any way;
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else’s photographs;
- advertise, sell, solicit, or run any commercial or sexual service;
- ask users for money, or attempt any scam;
- share anyone’s private information, including screenshots of conversations;
- use bots, scrapers or automated tools against Ishq, or try to get around its limits.
5. What you post
You keep ownership of your photographs and what you write. You give us permission to host, display and transmit them so the app can work. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep something under section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you post.
6. Safety, reports and suspension
You can block or unmatch anyone at any time, and you can report a profile or a message.
We may pause or remove an account that breaks these terms, and we may bar a device. Where your account is paused you can appeal in the app and we will review it. We may act without notice where we think somebody is at risk.
Moderation is carried out by people. It will not always be perfect, and the appeal process exists because of that.
7. Verification is not a background check
We do not conduct background checks, criminal record checks, or any check on a person’s character, intentions or history. Verification confirms only that a person appears to match the photographs and document they submitted. It is not a statement that they are safe, honest, single, or truthful about anything else.
Use your judgement. Meet in public. Tell someone where you are going. You are responsible for your own safety when you meet somebody.
8. What we do not promise
Ishq is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we give no warranties, conditions or representations of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
In particular, we do not promise that Ishq will always be available, that it will be free of faults or defects, that data will never be lost, that you will match with anyone, that anyone you meet will be who they say they are, or that any interaction arranged through Ishq will be safe or satisfactory.
9. Our liability
9.1 Ishq is an intermediary
Ishq is a platform that allows people to find and contact each other. We do not introduce, vet, endorse, supervise or take part in any interaction between users. All profiles, messages and other content on Ishq are created by users, not by us. We are an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and are not the author or publisher of user content.
9.2 We are not liable for what users do
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, distress or expense arising from:
- the conduct of any user, whether on Ishq or anywhere else;
- anything a user says, posts, sends or claims about themselves;
- any meeting, communication, relationship or transaction between users, whether it takes place through Ishq, elsewhere online, or in person;
- any harassment, fraud, deception, impersonation, theft, assault or other harm caused by a user;
- any decision you take about whether to meet, trust, or share information with another person.
You use Ishq, and you meet people, at your own risk.
9.3 We are not liable for the service itself
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the app being unavailable, delayed, interrupted, or containing faults; from any loss, corruption or deletion of data, including messages, matches or photographs; from any notification not being delivered; from any moderation decision, including suspending, restricting, verifying, refusing to verify, or reinstating an account; or from any failure or act of a third-party service on which Ishq depends.
9.4 No indirect or consequential loss
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, reputation, anticipated savings, or data, however caused, even if we were told such loss was possible.
9.5 Cap on our total liability
Ishq is provided to you free of charge. You pay us nothing, and we receive nothing from you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or connected with Ishq, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute or otherwise, is limited to the greater of:
- the total amount you have actually paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose; and
- INR 1,000 (one thousand rupees).
9.6 Your indemnity to us
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising from your use of Ishq, anything you post or send, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or of anyone else’s rights.
9.7 What we do not exclude
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, nothing here excludes or limits our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else for which liability cannot be excluded under Indian law. If any part of this section 9 is found to be unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
9.8 Your statutory rights
These terms do not affect any rights you have under Indian law that cannot be varied by agreement, including under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Ishq and delete your account at any time — see delete your account. We may end your access if you break these terms. Sections 5, 9 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. We will update the date above and tell you in the app where a change matters. Continuing to use Ishq after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or connected with them.
13. Grievances
Our Grievance Officer under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 is named on our contact and grievances page, together with how to reach him and the timelines within which he will respond.
